The Sacramento Mortgage Credit Certificate Program is designed to provide homeownership assistance on the purchase of a home. The MCC Program provides qualified first time homebuyers with an income tax credit of 20% of the mortgage interest paid each year on their mortgage. By reducing taxes, the MCC gives the first time homebuyer more available income to qualify for a mortgage loan and to make monthly mortgage payments.
